The bitumen may be mixed with mineral oil to form a solution, or may be in the form of a foam produced in situ by mixing it with ground limestone and an acid, e.g. SO 3 , P 2 O 5 or an acid resin, the components reacting to generate CO 2 on contact with water on the floor of the cavern. |
