The desensitizing agent may be mixed with one or more polymer, wax, vegetable oil, inorganic material. anti-offset agent. solvent, or other desensitizing agent, and preferably constitutes 1-60 wt. % of the composition. 22 specific compounds are listed as desensitizing agents: they contain 1-7 polyether chains of up to 20 -CH 2 CH 2 O- units and 0-6 -CH 2 CH(CH 3 )O- units, HO-. MeO- or BuO- terminated, attached to Si in a monosilane, disilane, disilmethylene or Si 2-9 polysiloxane molecule in which the other groups are -CH 3 , directly or via -C 2 H 4 -, -C 3 H 6 -, -CH 2 CH(OH)CH 2 -, -N(Me)-C 2 H 4 -NMe-C 2 H 4 - @ or -N-C 2 H 4 -N-C 3 H 6 - groups. In the Examples desentitizing compositions are prepared from a linseed oil-alkyd resin, TiO 2 and one of the specified agents in 1:3:1 weight ratio. These are printed onto colour-developer sheets, which are then pressed into contact with colourformer sheets, or are coated onto paper, which is then written on with a ball-pen or fountain pen. The colour-developer sheets are of paper coated with acid-treated clay, a phenyl-phenolformaldehyde resin, and/or a di-t-butylsalicylic acid/ZnCl 2 product, in aqueous methoxyethylene-maleic anhydride copolymer/styrenebutadiene latex or in aqueous polyvinyl alcohol. The colour-former sheets are of paper coated with encapsulated oil solutions of crystal violet lactone and benzoyl-leucomethylene blue or of these plus amino-fluoran dyes, suspended in gelatin and gum arabic solutions.</p> |
