Destruction of hepaticia in plants - by treatment with film forming polymers

In the title process useful and ornamental plants are protected by covering the hepaticia and its immediate environment with a strongly adherent organic polymer, esp. derived from an olefinically unsatd. monomer or copolymers thereof. The compsns. which pref. contains polybutadiene, a copolymer of butadiene, styrene and acrylic acid or acrylonitrile or of butyl acrylate, acrylamide, styrene or acrylic acid in amts. of 0.1-99% are applied by normal means.
