<p>1475790 Contraceptive method and preparation SCHERING AG 9 July 1974 [9 July 1973] 30362/74 Heading A5B A method of contraception, comprises administering to a human female on each of 10 to 12 successive days a first, low, oestrogenic daily dosage (defined) of an oestrogen and a first, low, gestagenic daily dosage (defined) of a gestagen; on each of the immediately following 11 to 9 successive days, to complete a 21-day period, a second, higher, oestrogenic daily dosage (defined) of an oestrogen and a second, higher, gestagenic daily dosage (defined) of a gestagen which is on average up to 3 times as great as the average low gestagenic daily dosage administered in the preceding 10 to 12 days, and on each of the immediately following 7 successive days, no oestrogen or gestagen, and the 28-day cycle is repeated. Oestrogens specified include 17α- ethynyl-oestradiol and oestradiol valerate. Gestagens specified include d-norgestrel, 17α- ethynyl-19-nortestosterone acetate, cyproterone acetate and 17-acetoxy-18-methyl-15α, 16α- methylene-19-nor-#<SP>4</SP>-pregnene-3, 20 dione. The dosage units may be put up as tablets or dragees on or in a suitable pack or card.</p> |
