1299845 Determination of reduced pyridine coenzymes BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 24 Nov 1970 [26 Nov 1969] 55847/70 Heading B1X Reduced pyridine coenzymes are colorimetrically determined using as indicator wherein R is oxygen or -NR 1 R 2 ; R 1 , R 2 may be the same or different and are hydrogen or C 1 to C 6 alkyl; X is oxygen or sulphur and Y is hydrogen or hydroxyl; or a quaternary ammonium compound thereof. The reduced coenzyme (NADH or NADPH) may be titrated under nitrogen with a solution of the indicator or the indicator may be used as an electron carrier in conjunction with a tetrazolium salt, when the reduced indicator formed in the test reacts with the tetrazolium salt to produce a formazane which is measured at 578 mu. Alternatively the indicator may be applied to carrier materials such as paper strips or gel layers for use. |
