The contactor has a carbon button 51 and a dimple 58 which contact the cermet film resistive path 18 and the collector 19, respectively, on a ceramic substrate 21. The screw is inserted in a bore of the lower half 13 of the housing and presses against a sealing ring within the bore. A seating 39 in the housing engages a groove 43 in the screw thus preventing longitudinal movement. An integral member 42 of the upper housing 12 prevents the screw lifting out of the seating. A stop arm 47 on the fixed spindle 16 limits the travel of the gear by engaging a stop member (46) on the lower surface of the gear. At least part of the gear rim is flexible so that the drive to the screw is interrupted once the contactor has reached its limit of travel. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 5-6 (not shown), the terminals are bent at right-angles and leave the upper housing 12 through its upper surface, thus improving the terminal pull-out strength. A separate member (82) replaces the integral member 42.
