PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition with excellent mechanical strength and elasticity at normal temperature, processable at lower temperatures by incorporating trans-polyisoprene with squalene, a highly compatible plasticizer. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 pts.wt. of polyisoprene >=90 (pref. >=95)% in the amount of trans-1,4-bond and >=10 in Mooney viscosity at 100 deg.C is incorporated with (B) 5-100 (pref. 10-80) pts.wt. of squalnen having structure of the formula, and, if needed, (C) such ingredients as deterioration preventive, antioxidant, inorganic or organic filler, curing agent and/or curing promoter, and the resultant blend is mixed using an open roll, thus obtaining the objective composition. This composition is good in melt molding processability, being processable at 40-50 deg.C, having sufficient mechanical strength and elasticity at normal temperature, and being useful for the arc parts at the heels of cloth shoes, gyps, etc. |
