For the mechanical washing of articles having a hard surface, a mixture of acidic orthophosphoric acid esters is used which was prepared by reaction of phosphorus (V) oxide with a mixture consisting of a monohydric alcohol having 1-20 C atoms and an alkanepolyol having 2 to 12 C atoms and 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups, while maintaining a molar ratio of phosphorus (V) oxide to monohydric alcohol to alkanepolyol of 1 to 2 to 4/n or a stoichiometric excess of the monohydric alcohol and/or the alkanepolyol relative to the phosphorus (V) oxide, n denoting the number of hydroxyl groups in the alkanepolyol molecule, with mixing or kneading of the reaction components at a temperature between 0 DEG and 120 DEG C with the exclusion of moisture and in the presence of an inert gas in the course of 1-6 hours and cooling of the reaction mixture after completion of the reaction. |
