<p>The drainage system for gases and liquid during a chest operation on a patient, has a set of flasks (12, 14, 16) attached to a common distribution cover (M). This cover incorporates a channel (36) connecting the first two flasks (12, 14) and another channel (38) between the final set of three flasks (16). The first flask (12) is a suction flask, and a suction tube (76) is mounted over the second flask (14) which acts as a sealing vessel, also as a water seal. The remaining three flasks are liquid containers. A closure is included between the first channel (36) and the second channel (38). A device is included to control the degree of vacuum inside the flask (12) includes a tube (62) at its top permitting connection with the outside air. The tops of the flasks screw into the underside of the cover. A connection (50) at one end receives the tube (52) connected to the drainage cannula.</p> |
