Adjusting screw assembly with a locking clip - sets the distributor contacts for a petrol engine, and holds the adjustment

The adjusting screw assembly includes a plate, with a hollow on one side grooved to match the screw thread, and a device to push the screw down into the hollow. This device is pref. a steel spring clip. held in position by two projections on the back of the plate. The grooved hollow in the plate is pref. formed by a moulding process. Device is used as an adjusting screw for the distributor contacts of a petrol engine; the tool is guided to the screwdriver slot by a sleeve set opposite it in the wall of the distributor; the sleeve is of polypropylene, and closed, when not in use, by a cap on a hinge moulded in the plastic.
