The vehicle has an end hinged ramp which can be let down lengthways to form a pontoon bridge or ferry unit, and short folding approach ramps hinged to both ends, one forming a setting-down member for the main ramp, and the other composed of two foldable interconnected halves. The hinge point of this two-part ramp (9) is sited as a continuation of the flat vehicle deck (5) in the area where its edge slopes away (14), and its outer half (11) folds in rearwards below the inner half (10). When the ramp is folded, the open end near the folding hinge can be equipped (17) for coupling to similar vehicles.
