Connector tube coupling on pressure vessel - has ball valve operated by projection on inserted tube end

The coupling assembly allows the connection of an external tube with a pressurised vessel (4) and includes a screw bush (8) which locates an axially spring-loaded non-return valve (13-15). The leading end of the screw bush is provided with a radial shoulder for the location of seal rings (9, 11). When the external tube is connected, its leading end penetrates a guide bush (21) and an O-ring seal (16). The valve ball (14) is then lifted off the valve seat thus allowing a fluid transfer. The connector tube is located by a rotary screw sleeve which fits into the outside end of the tapped location hole (3), that houses the valve assembly.
