<p>Additive compsns. (II) are given for regenerating partly exhausted jet printing inks (I). (I) comprises 1-25 (wt.)% alcohol-soluble resin (A), which adheres to various surfaces, including metal; 0.5-5% basic dyestuff (B); 0-30% solvent modifier (C), consisting of ethylene or propylene glycol mono(m)ethyl ether, and the balance comprises a mixt. of water and a 1-3C aliphatic monoalcohol (D) in 1:1.5-10 ratio, to give an ink with a surface tension of 22-40 x 10-5 Ncm at 20 degrees C, a viscosity of 1.75-5 cP at 20 degrees, a pH of 8.0-9.5 and a resistivity 5000 ohm. cm. (I) can also contain 0.2% electrolyte(s) (E) affecting the resistivity. (II) contain 0.1-20, pref. max. 15, esp. max. 10, partic. 1.6-2.9 (vol.)% water, 0.1-4.5, esp. 1.6-1.9% aq. 26 degrees Be NH4OH soln. (F). 0.5, esp. 0-1.6% ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (D1), rest MeOH. Suitable compsns. are e.g. (I) 45 pts. shellac, 20 pts. basic rhodamine dyestuff, 540 ppts. MeOH, 105 pts. EtOH, 9 pts. (F), 175 pts. water and 15 pts dimethylamine HCl and (II) 2.9% water, 1.9% (F), rest MeOH.</p> |
