The engine cylinder (3) supports a cylinder head (1). The cylinder head has an injection passage for the fuel, and a passage opening into the space (6) in the head. The auxiliary piston (10) operates in the bore (5). The piston is located by a spring (19) held on the rod (56). Oil in the space (7) acts against the diaphragm (26) with gas pressure in the space (23). Gas pressure in the cylinder forces the piston (10) up the bore, until the valve (22) closes and holds it in position. The position is regulated by the gas reference pressure. As the pressure rises above this pressure the piston moves again in the bore.
|
