The power supply is used for low power devices or electronic units e.g. pocket calculators. It supplies them with energy via an optoelectronic coupler. The coupler is connected between the supply network and the device or unit. The optoelectronic coupler consists of several light emitting and light sensitive elements in series. Alternatively, one light emitting element (eg an LED) may serve several series light sensitive elements (eg photodiodes). The light emitting elements are integrated onto a single semiconductor chip. Various configurations are described. |
