The capacitor battery (54) controls the voltage of the transformer winding (55) or inductor winding (56) in a transformer or in an inductor. An individual capacitor is allocated to each winding section to be controlled. The capacitor battery (54) is constructed from disc coils which are open at one end (that is to say without any electrical connection), are wound in a plurality of layers, are magnetically decoupled from the winding (55, 56) and are assembled to form a special structural unit. All the individual capacitors allocated to the same winding or to the same winding branch of a winding are electrically connected in series. Seen in cross-section through the capacitor battery (54) and the transformer or inductor, the boundary line of the cross-section of the capacitor battery runs in the adjacent region of components of the transformer or of the inductor parallel to the cross-sectional boundary line of these components. At the same time, the corners and points which exist in the cross-section of the capacitor battery can be rounded off. As a result of the arrangement, capacitor batteries having very large longitudinal capacities for the windings can be accommodated within the tank without increasing its size. <IMAGE> |
