The motor vehicle brake shoe comprises a supporting body to which a friction lining is secured. One or more recesses are formed in the face of the lining bearing against the rotating drum etc, and open only towards the latter. There can be a number of such recesses at intervals, near the edge of the lining, one or more being at the leading and one or more at the trailing edge. The recess at the leading edge can be closer to the brake disc axis than that at the trailing edge, or, in the case of a drum brake, the leading edge recess can be at the side of the drum free edge, and the trailing edge one near the drum base.
|
