<p>Piston pumps are connected to the sphere to apply hydraulic pressure to bags in the sphere, in compartments provided by a dividing membrane. Application of pressure to the bags causes the bags' contents to overcome outlet valves, while non-return valves prevent the fluids from returning to their source supply. The purpose is to provide a measurement and delivery system, without seals or mechanical parts which would be damaged by the corrosive action of the fluids used to blend plastic raw materials.</p> |
