The load handling tackle is for coils of strip or wire, having a horizontal supporting arm extending from a vertical column. On the column (1b), one or more electromagnets (2) are mounted, pulling the load towards it. There can be two magnets, on opposite sides of the column and protruding from it in the direction of the arm (1a), and supplied from the mains by a connecting plug (9) and a bridge-type rectifier (8). Screw-on plates (3) can be provided for the magnets, having recesses for the rectifiers, and there can be a protruding portion from the column (1c) above the arm, with a lifting eye (1d) for a crane hook, also a counterweight (5) on the side furthest from the column.
