Sparkling wine bottle opener consists of a holder for placing on the neck with a puller riding up and down inside the holder in response to a swivel lever coupled to this through a rack system. The holder consists of two parallel arms (1, 1a) carried in a common top piece (3) and with the cork puller (8) guided between them. The puller has two opposed clamps (13, 13a) to grasp the cork or stopper. The bottom ends of the arms (1, 1a) have opposing neck supports (15, 15a) and the arms are enclosed by a slide ring (14) which forces them together. Each clamp should be hinged to the bottom of the puller (8) by means of a pull lever (12, 12a) with a spring (17, 17a) between this and the associated guide arm (1). The arms should be U shaped so that the pull levers and clamps ride inside these.
