U=shaped spring contact - has spring contact arms at end and two small inward-facing tags as stops for ratchet retaining flap

The contact is U-shaped with spring contact arms at one end and has a ratchet flap punched and pressed out of its middle. (The ratchet flap prevents the contact being removed once it has been inserted into its insulating holder). The other end of contact is crimped around a wire. To prevent the rachet flap from being pushed back into the body of the contact, two small tags are pressed inwards out of the sides of the contact's middle just near the free end of the flap. The flap comes to rest against these tags when pressed down far engough.
