A temp. responsive switch for control of electrical equipment has a bimetallic disc that adopts one of two stable positions. Electrical contacts (4) are rivetted to the insulated top cover (3) of the switch. The circuit across the contacts is made by a silvered layer (9) on the surface of an insulated disc (8). The disc position is determined by a disc spring (12) and a bimetallic disc (11), retained by a centre pin (10). As the temp. increases, the bimetallic disc deflects to break the electrical contact. The disc passes through the dead point and exhibits a snap action effect in adopting the second stable position.
|
