<p>The cutting unit can machine an axial slit in the end of the shaft of self-tapping screws. A clamping unit is used to hold the screws on the disc which receives them from the supply ramp. To hold the screws in the recesses of the disc, the operating unit has a turret head which is able to move in a plane which lies over the disc and is inclined to the rotational axis of the disc. The turret head can be forced in a direction transverse to its rotational plane towards the disc in order to clamp the screws against the disc.</p> |
