1522438 Flame retardant polycarbonate compositions GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 28 Oct 1976 [26 Nov 1975] 44954/76 Addition to 1495958 Heading C3R A non-opaque flame retardant composition comprises a polycarbonate and from 0À001 to 2À0% by weight, based on the polycarbonate, of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a sulphonic acid wherein the sulphonate group is bonded to a C1-10 alkyl, cycloalkyl, olefinic or cyclolefinic radical, the polycarbonate and the salt each having a refractive index of from 1À54 to 1À65. Many salts are specified, e.g. sodium 2- bromoethane-1-sulphonate, sodium triphenylmethane sulphonate and potassium 3,4-dichlorotoluenealpha-sulphonate. |
