Upholstered car seat cover - is made with strips engaging in indentations in upholstered padding

The upholstered seat coverings, esp. for car seats has groove-like indentations (6) on the side facing the occupant which are covered with a suitable cover (7) wherein at least one strip (14) which has a certain bending resistance lies between the cover and the upholstered padding material and is connected to the cover (7) in the strip zones (13) lining the bottom of the indentations (6). These strips (14) are provided with peripheral zones which protrude beyond the longitudinal sides of the strip zones (13) to engage in slots (11) provided in the upholstery material. The strips can be connected to the cover before being applied to the upholstery preferably by means of seams (16) along the two edges of the associated strip zones.
