1535113 Poultry storage C V P SYSTEMS Inc 31 Aug 1976 [14 Oct 1975] 36007/76 Heading A2D A method of packaging fresh poultry comprises placing pieces of fresh poultry containing natural juices in a flexible, gas impermeable container, vacuumizing the container, introducing gaseous carbon dioxide thereinto, and sealing the container whereby at least some of the carbon dioxide and at least some of the natural juices form carbonic acid. Suitably, as the carbonic acid forms, the container will contract around the poultry pieces. The container may then be maintained at a cold temperature e.g. 28-40‹F for an extended time period e.g. up to 40 days. |
