PURPOSE:To enhance the grade of a recording image by enhancing heat resistance and preventing cutting or thermal deformation by using a thermal transfer material wherein a support is constituted of high density paper and a rear treatment layer is provided to the surface opposite to an ink layer of the support and moving the same in a state rubbed with a material to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material 1 and a material 2 to be recorded are continuously moved in the directions shown by arrows A, B by rotating a capstan roller 12, a pinch roller 13 and a platen roller 11 to perform recording on the material 2 to be recorded. At this time, a head 3 is not moved and the thermal transfer material 1 is moved so as to become slower than the material 2 to be recorded. In this double- density recording method, the support of the thermal transfer material receives the application of heat repeatedly within a short time and is required in high heat resistance and also required in high dimensional stability at the time of the application of heat and running stability on the size level of the heat generator of the thermal head. Therefore, an ink layer 100 is provided on the support 110 of the thermal transfer material 1 and a rear treatment layer 120 is further provided to the surface opposite to the ink layer 100 of the support 110. As the support 110, thin and high density paper is used to be capable of meeting the requirements of the support. |
