<p>The system controls the operation of a feed conveyor supplying discharge and transfer stations. The items are delivered until the discharge station is full. The conveyor forming the discharge station and/or the feed conveyor, are then stopped and simultaneously the discharge or transfer operation is initiated. When the station is free again, supply from the feed conveyor is restarted to deliver a number of items slightly greater then that needed for the transfer or discharge operation. The feed conveyor can have a first feeler (7) shortly before the discharge station, working in conjunction with one or more further feelers (5, 6) in the station (2, 3).</p> |
