Compressed air plant pressure regulator - uses strong cap spring to give play and flutter on cap assembly

A pressure regulator for a compressed air plant has a double seat valve for controlling an idler valve with a control rod operated by a membrane measuring the equipment pressure against an adjuster spring. The cylindrical regulator cap is held stationary on the control rod via its cap spring so that play in the double seat valve does not effect the regulator switching accuracy. Inlet valve flutter is also reduced. The cap spring (151) is stronger than the total force exerted by a spring (147) holding the collar (146) from the membrane (126) and the force on the collar working face (152) dependent on the equipment press.
