<p>1506399 Valves INTERNATIONAL PAPER CO 6 June 1975 [10 June 1974] 24369/75 Heading F2V The plug of a stopcock consists of a stem 14, with a handle 46, having an axially elongate slot 48 extending radially into the stem, and a port 52, angularly spaced from the slot and intersecting the slot internally, the plug being operative in a body 12 with passageways 20, 22 (18), Fig. 1 (not shown), angularly and axially spaced apart and intersecting a bore 30. As shown, a tapered stem 14 is received in a bore 30 and the stem is retained in the bore by a bead 54. To provide a vent for passage 20 a small diameter passageway 60 is provided through the body wall and a depression (62) alignable therewith is formed in the stem. The passageway 60 may have an air filter of micro-porous polypropylene or polyethylene. The body and stem may be mouldings in A.B.S. and polyethylene respectively.</p> |
