1456879 Testing static and dynamic unbalance CARL SCHENCK AG 5 Dec 1974 [11 Nov 1974] 52679/74 Heading G1X The static and dynamic balance of a body, e.g. vehicle wheel, is tested by a machine comprising a U-shaped frame 7 having a horizontal web 6 forming a torsion spring which carries a bearing for a spindle 2 supporting the test body, and limbs 8. The bearing is connected by two flexing springs 12 to the limbs 8. As described, two transducers 13, 15 are fixed to the bed-plate 9. The dimensioning of the frame 7 and springs 12 is so selected as to substantially equalize the resonance at bending and torque stresses. Springs 12 may be leaf-springs (as shown) with their broader sides disposed vertically and extending parallel to web 6, or comprise two pairs of parallel leaf-springs. Web 6 and limbs 8 may be in the form of leaf-springs. A plurality of U-shaped frames 7 may be combined to form a stack and the various members shown as flat leafsprings may be replaced by round bar or hollow springs. The machine, except for spindle 2 may be enclosed, and a protective hood may be pivotally connected to supports to enclose the test body when desired.
|
