Rotary pump for lacquer of enamelling wire - has tapered rotor with spiral groove inside tapered cylinder

The pump has a vertical body (16) with a straight cylinder (32) with a taper (18) at the bottom. There is an inlet opening (10) above the start of the taper and a discharge opening (12) at the bottom of the taper. A vertical rotor (14) within the cylinder has a straight body with a clearance to the main part of the cylinder and a taper which fits tightly into the cylinder taper. This taper has a spiral groove (22) in it. The pump is submerged in a vessel (46) of lacquer and as the rotor turns the spiral groove carries lacquer from the inlet to the discharge port. The taper ensures that the volume reduces to the outlet with a resulting increase of pressure.
