<p>The generator deries its motive force from a magnetic field and is self-exciting -- ie a part of the electric energy generated is used to create the magnetic field. The magnetic field is produced by several electromagnets (1) fixed to a wheel (4) driven by a motor (2). A mass (7) regulates the generator's (8) speed of rotation. The wheel is linked via a chain (3) and pulley (6) to the generator. The generatogenerator output is in turn used to power the motor, with the weight (7) preventing excessive operating speeds.</p> |
