The stopper is composed of a portion (1) which is permanently fixed to the bottle by a skirt (11) fitting over ridges on the bottle neck. The removable cap (2) is sealed onto the base by the ring (17) which is torn away when the bottle is opened. The cap is fitted with a flat portion (27) which connects with the flat (18) on the base. The base is furnished with a pouring lip (19) and an flow spreader (14) consisting of a number of ribs across the opening.
