<p>The vehicle headlamp has a housing (12) with a hinge (28) along the bottom edge by means of which an open rectangular front frame (16) can be swung down for access to the lamp (10) itself. The top of the frame carries a swing latch (30) which engages a projection on the top of the housing when closed. The lamp itself has a lens (24) attached to the reflector (22), the lens projecting through the front frame when locked in position. The lamp (10) carries fittings (26) each side which locate in corresponding fittings (20) on the sides of the housing (12) around the reflector. An alternative design has chip-in attachments at the sides, the lens being mounted in the removable front cover.</p> |
