<p>The procedure for erecting a lift in a stair cage having the flights independent of a pylon comprises the following stages. First the ceiling of the landing is demolished and all masonry and plaster is removed in order to lighten the load on the flights, then the flights are propped up. The stringers and but-ends of the steps are then cut out to allow passage of the lift cage and underpinning beams (12) at placed at the corners of the cage. Laminated plywood stringers (14) are fixed by eyebolts to the bearing beams (16) and bent steel elements (18) are welded on each side of the underpinning beam.</p> |
