<p>The packing is for bottles or similar brittle items, these being accommodated upright in a container in a series of layers. A partition (7) is provided between the tops of the bottles in one layer and the bottoms of those in the one above, comprising a plate to which a layer (8) of elastic material is attached. Holes are provided in the plate, larger than the bottle tops, where the tops in one layer support the bottle bases in the one above. The plate can be of zinc-coated steel, while rubber is used for the elastic material, and the edges of the plate can be bent round over the rubber edges.</p> |
