<p>A thermoplastic film and a base web are advanced together past a heater so that the film fuses to the base web and sticks to the heater. The assembly is then pulled from the heater so that the film breaks and forms fibres. Pref. the film and base web with the film uppermost are advanced between presser rolls, the upper one of which is heated, and pref. as the film is pulled from the upper roll it is cooled by a gas jet. Industrial fabric, artificial sports surfaces etc. may be produced.</p> |
