Electromagnetically operated circuit breaker - has single magnet driving pole pistons moving bridge contacts in arc extinguishing chambers

The circuit breaker has each of its poles provided with a chamber containing parallel arc-extinguishing plates. The chamber has a central U-shaped guide for the arc. Each moving contact consists of a spring-loaded piston with a contact bridge at its end. The bridge joins the two fixed contacts. The piston is driven axially by an electromagnet on the other side of the fixed contacts and has an extension in the arc-extinguishing chamber. All the pistons are driven by the same electromagnet.
