A device for delivering measured quantities of a liquid includes a thumb actuated piston (5). Actuation of the piston causes a measured dose of liquid from a reservoir (9) to rise through a pipe (15) into communicating chambers (13'a) (13b). The dose of liquid is subsequently passed through a one way valve (7) into an output chamber. The output valve (7) comprises a cylindrical ram starting in an "O" ring seal (29) and (13) on opposite sides of the output chamber (13'c). The whole mechanism is mounted in a pistol grip assembly.
