摘要 Demisting device for the rear window of a passenger car. It is made up of a sheet carrier over which are applied a series of electrically conductive tapes. Each tape is formed of an aluminum strip connectable to a source of electric current so as to be heated and secured to one surface of a co-extensive strengthening backing film, the other surface of the film being adhered to the carrier so that the strips and films form a series of conducting tapes on the carrier. A layer of adhesive is applied on the surface of the strips remote from the carrier, which adhesive is such as to enable the tapes to adhere to the car window when the strips are pressed against it with a strength greater than that with which the tapes adhere to the carrier so that, after being applied to the window, the carrier can be peeled off from the tapes. In applying the demisting device, the strips and films are first formed into the conductive tapes which are spacedly secured to the carrier sheet. An adhesive is then applied onto the surface of the aluminum strips remote from the carrier, which adhesive is such as to enable the tapes to adhere to a window with a strength greater than that with which the tapes adhere to the carrier. Selfadhesive members of electrically conductive material are then applied to the window and, thereafter, the composite arrangement of tapes and carrier is applied to the window with the adhesive surface of the strips foremost so that selected strip portions adhere to the electrically conductive members and the remaining portions adhere to the window. The sheet material is peeled off to leave the tapes secured to the window and the self-adhesive electrically conductive members are connected to the car battery.
