A work station is used for the assembly and setting-up of a telephone cross-bar switching unit. It facilitates access to the unit during its assembly and it also allows checking of the unit in conditions similar to the ones when in use. The work station has a cradle (9) fitted to an adjustable stand (1). The cradle (9) carries a support frame (10) to hold the cross bar switching unit. The frame (10) may be rotated about horizontal pivots (12) and about the vertical spindle of the stand (1). The frame (10) also has hinged pads (17, 18, 19) to secure the switch onto the frame (10), corner pieces (22) to lin-up the unit on the frame (10) and a handle (16) to move the frame (10). A locking lever (15) is used to hold the frame (10) in a preferred position while working on the switch unit. |
