The profiled element is used for building furniture, partition walls and shelving. These are built up with separate components such as boards, plate panels, walls and frames. The system has channel-shaped profiles with inwardly turned flanges for clamping. The arrangement has predominantly square or rectangular hollow frame members (1) which carry one or several integral channel profiles. These profiles have inwardly turned flanges leaving a gap. A furniture component (20) can be pushed into the groove formed for locking. A hollow frame part (1) can have such profiles arranged on opposite sides or on two adjacent faces. An X profile can be formed or T shape. These profiles are of light alloy or plastics.
