<p>The ink ribbon drive for a power operated typewriter comprises a rewind spool which is driven by a ratchet. The forwarding pawl (63) of the ratchet is actuated by an operating member responsive to each type action. The stroke of the pawl is varied by a movable abutment (49). T'e abutment is provided on a lever (43) having a part (45) engaging the periphery of the ribbon as would on the rewind spool. As the diameter of the would ribbon increases, the abutment in moved closer to the pawl to reduce its stroke.</p> |
