<p>The flow characteristics and rheological properties of thermoplastic polyesters and copolyesters are significantly improved by the addition of 0.01 - 20% by weight of a particularly defined polyamide resin thereto, namely one having a number molecular weight of from 5,000 to 50,000, obtained from the reaction of a high molecular weight aliphatic or cycloaliphatic dibasic acid containing from 18 to 52 carbon atoms and up to 30 weight percent, based on the total acid charge, of a short-chain, saturated, aliphatic dibasic acid containing from 2 to 13 carbon atoms with an aliphatic saturated diamine containing from 2 to 10 carbon atoms or a mixture of the diamines. In addition to improving the processability of the thermoplastic materials the polymeric additives also impart other desirable properties to the resulting manufactured products.</p> |
