<p>Water soluble, hardenable acrylic interpolymers comprise 50-95 vol. % =12, pref. 4-8C alkyl acrylate or methacrylate, 1-30 mole% vinyl comonomers (I) contg. sulphonic acid, sulphonate esters, sultone or sulphamide gps., 2-30 mole% acrylic- or methacrylic acid contg. reactive gps. promoting hardening reaction and 0-47 mole% other comonomers. Keratinous fibrous material, such as wool, contg. 0.5-10% cwf of the above interpolymer is also claimed. The wool material opt. contg. synthetic fibres e.g. of polyamide or polyester has durable press or permanent press properties imparted to it on treating with the polymer.</p> |
