A kitchen ventilator hood and grease trap mounted over a stove has top and bottom sheets (7, 11) which slope downwards towards a vertical front panel (8). There is an entry slot (12) at the joint between the front and bottom panels (8, 11) with a horizontal collector tray (9) underneath. Hot air drawn upwards by a fan at the top, passes through a channel (20) between the bottom sheet (11) and an inner sheet (15) parallel to it. The air then passes around a cooling unit which also cools the inner sheet, towards the front, then back again through another sloping channel (22) between a further sheet (16) and the top sheet (7). At the rear is a set of flaps (17) which can shorten or lengthen this path.
