The toothpaste-filled toothbrush includes a handle (3) attached to the brush holder (1) forming a reservoir (4) for the fluid or paste substance whilst an actuating mechanism with pressure member (10) is attached to the end remote from the bristles (2) and a channel (6) passes through the brush holder leading from the reservoir (4) to the bristles between which is an outlet opening (14) which is opened and closed by a sealing member designed as a slide (7) guided inside the channel (6) and runs sealingly along the channel wall. The compression member (10) is fastened to the inner wall of the handle by compression bellows (11) designed as a resetting spring member and which are only connected in sealing manner to the compression member after the paste or the like has been supplied to the reservoir. A connecting member (9) extends through the inside of the reservoirs and rigidly connects the compression member and slide member together. The length of the connecting member is such that when the bellows are relaxed the slide member closes the outlet opening (14) and thus only opens it when the bellows are compressed.
