<p>The device for assisting braking of motor cycles is arranged between the brake control member and the brake. A lever (2) is fixed to the control cable and pivoted about an axis (3) to a plate (1). The lever has a catch (4) co-operable with electrical contacts (11a, 11b) to energise a motor-reduction gear (12) to rotate a cam (20) acting on the lever. The cam is engaged by a roller on the lever. The catch is mounted on a pivot (2a) and is acted on by a spring (5). A second cam may be provided on the motor shaft (12a) for co-operating with a lever operating the contacts, to maintain operation of the motor reduction gear. The lever is between the cam and the plate and is guided by an arm (2f). Stops (2b, 8) are provided for the catch and the cam member.</p> |
