External window solar heat trap - has regulated vertical air circulation through space between transparent frame held layers

The system is designed for reduction of loss of solar heat passing through external wall windows, esp. in cold and temperate climates, and applicable to old buildings and new ones. Spaced layers (20, 21) of transparent material are fixed and sealed to the edge of a frame (8, 9, 10) in the window opening (4), on the inside. The flue type space between layers is linked to the building interior only at top and bottom, with air circulating through it. The inside layer (21) is formed to abstract heat emanating from penetrating rays heating the space. A regulator pref. comprising valve with electromotor drive permits air circulation only when temp. in the space reaches a set level.
